PRTG Network Monitor
Forward PRTG sensor alerts with an HTTP action.
MONITORINGSetup difficulty: Easy
1
Create the integration in NOCBuddy
In NOCBuddy, go to Settings → Integrations → New Integration and choose PRTG Network Monitor. Field mapping and severity are pre-configured. Copy the webhook URL it gives you.
2
Point PRTG Network Monitor at NOCBuddy
- In PRTG, open Setup → Account Settings → Notifications and add a notification of type 'Execute HTTP Action'
- Set the URL to your NOCBuddy webhook URL, method POST, content type application/json
- Use the payload: {"title":"%device - %name","body":"%message","severity":"%status","status":"%status","id":"%sensorid","client":""}
- Attach this notification to your sensor triggers — including the 'Up' (state change) trigger so recoveries close the alert
Menu names can vary a little between PRTG Network Monitor versions. Stuck? Send a test alert — if it doesn't appear, the integration's Raw Events log shows exactly what arrived.
3
Recoveries close alerts automatically
When PRTG Network Monitor reports the problem is over, NOCBuddy resolves the matching alert (and its incident, once nothing else in it is open) — no one has to click anything. Pair it with grouping rules, runbooks and one-tap Slack acknowledge for a calm on-call.
